Holiday Gift Giving Post COVID Style 2024 an beyond
Gift cards and tangible gifts are accepted this year!
Due date: December 8h or earlier/drop off starts right after Thanksgiving. Please e mail us when done and set a time for drop off so we can send the address.
Thank you so much for your interest in the Holiday Gift Giving project Not only are these children the victims of child abuse or child neglect, they come from the poorest families in the metro area.
This project started with The Child Rescue Foundation in 2001, when visitation for children and families was only averaging 7%. Since the project started, visitation has jumped to 87-93% annually!
We have 4 receivers this year as well, as they serve at risk youth who do not receive a lot at the holidays.
Holidays are such a difficult time for children who are in out-of-home placement or in other family crisis . During the visits with the parents, the parents are often so low-income that they have no money to purchase a gift for their child. The parents come to these visits and are able to share a moment of holiday joy while the watch their children open a present.
The rewards of this experience for the children are immeasurable. It provides a chance for healing within the family and a time for a positive time for the parents as well as for the children. And it provides gifts to children who may not receive any other gifts or who may only receive a small gift from a caregiver.
This year we will do both tangible and gift card gifts ,We encourage you to add enclosed candy or sweets, and a message from your heart about these difficult times, the different holiday this year, and words of encouragement!!
Donors are provided with the first name of the child as well as their age, gender and a suggested gift idea.
Gifts are capped at $35, but do what you like!.
How it works:
Please attach the whole description, child name/code without the gift description etc. to the outside.We are using the sample below that we are using for continuity.
When dropping off, please attach 1 removable tag to a package so we know who you are and can send a proper thank you. Scotch tape is great. We send a collage to you in January as our thank you.
Please leave off personal info or cards. Some of our guests have different denominations as we do.
All gift cards need to be attached with removable tape to the outside of the package for easy check in.
We love items gift wrapped or in festive bags! Personal hygiene items were such a hit!
It is that easy to put a smile on a child’s face!
